Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is a treatment process developed to use gentle stretching, mobilization and soft tissue massage techniques to treat a variety of conditions.  It is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.   Massage therapists are trained in the principles of anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, massage theory and the practical uses of massage. They are also versed in stretching techniques, remedial exercise and gentle mobilization.  Throughout Canada, massage therapists work in collaboration with physicians, dentists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals.

Cupping therapy employs negative pressure utilizing plastic, or silicone cups on the skin. The resulting suction not only stimulates blood flow but also provides a holistic approach to wellness. This therapy is recognized for its potential to alleviate joint and muscle pain, reduce inflammation, expedite recovery, enhance the function of the lymphatic and circulatory systems, and promote overall relaxation and well-being.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that uses energy to release what no longer serves a purpose in the body and mind.  It is based on the idea that we are all born with a universal life force and as we get older it can become impeded by illness, stress and trauma.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.  It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady always creating a beneficial effect.   It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

A Reiki treatment can help remove blockages along the energy channels to allow more love and light into the client achieving better physical, mental, emotional and spiritual balance. It is administered at AJM Fitness and Massage Therapy by laying the practitioners hands on different areas of the body above the clothing while the client relaxes in a comfortable laying position.
